The Race For President

Not wanting to risk following a stellar keynote address, you decide to give your speech beforehand. You soon find out that it was a very wise decision after discovering that Ronald Reagan is going to make his dramatic return to the public-eye and give the keynote address at the convention.

When it is time to give your speech, you are a bit nervous standing up there in front of all those people. However your nerves soon calm as you start speaking. You stick to what got you where you are now, and speak mostly about the legacy of Bob Dole, and other related crap. It isn't the Gettysburg Address or anything, but it is a solid speech, and you get a nice ovation from the crowd.

One person who obviously was impressed by your speech is Ronald Reagan. When he gets up to give the keynote address, all he can talk about is you. It's either that he was really impressed by your speech, or that was the only thing politically-related he could remember. No matter which it really was, Reagan's speech is the best thing that ever happened to your political career.

With the support of Ronald Reagan, you win the Republican presidential nomination in a landslide. But now you must make the tough decision of choosing a running-mate. The popular opinion at the convention is for you to run with Steve Forbes, who was the runner-up for the nomination. However you don't really like Steve Forbes, and you want to look for an alternative. The one problem is that you don't really have anybody else in mind, and time is running out. Escaping all the party officials pressuring you to go with Forbes, you momentarily leave the convention to think things over.
